Terms and refunds
Last updated 21 September 2026
Yoto Limiter is a small, independent service run by one person, Gonçalo Gomes (“I”). By creating an account you agree to these terms. Nothing here takes away rights you have by law as a consumer.
What the service is
- It sets daily play-time limits on Yoto players by connecting to your Yoto account, reading what a player is doing and pausing it.
- It is an independent project. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Yoto, and it depends on Yoto's systems. If Yoto changes or restricts them, parts of the service may stop working until I can adapt, or for good.
- A limit is enforced by pausing the player, which needs the player to be online and connected to Yoto. Pausing can take a few seconds, and a limit cannot stop a player that is offline. Please treat it as a helpful tool and not a guarantee.
Free and Plus
The Free plan costs nothing. Plus is paid, monthly or yearly, and adds the features listed on the pricing page. Prices are in pounds sterling and include any VAT that applies. Stripe is the seller of record for Plus: it takes the payment, collects any tax that applies and emails your receipt. I provide the service, and I stand behind the refunds and promises below.
Renewal and cancelling
- A Plus subscription renews automatically each month or year until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time in Settings, under Manage billing. It then stays active until the end of the period you paid for, after which your account returns to Free. What you set up is kept, but you cannot add Plus features.
- If I raise a price, the new price applies from your next renewal, and I will email you before then. You can cancel before it takes effect.
Refunds
- 14 days, no questions. If you change your mind, email me within 14 days of your first payment for Plus and I will refund it in full. This is more generous than the law requires for a service you start using straight away.
- After that, I do not refund the part of a month or year that has already started when you cancel. It stays active until it ends, as above.
- If it does not work. If Plus is not working as described and I cannot fix it, you can have a refund for the period affected, whenever it happened.
- If I end the service. I will give at least 30 days' notice, and refund the unused part of anything you have paid for.
- Refunds go back to the card you paid with, and can take a few days to appear.
To ask, email me at gomesgoncalo [at] gmail.com from the address on your account.
Using the service
- An account is for you and your household. Share a player only with people you trust: they can see its usage and, if you make them an owner, change its limits.
- Keep your password and recovery code safe. Without email, I cannot reset a password unless you have the recovery code.
- Please do not try to break, overload or get around the service, or use it to interfere with anyone else's players.
- You can delete your account whenever you like in Settings. Cancel a subscription first if you have one. I may close an account that breaks these terms, and will refund any unused paid time if I do.
What I am responsible for
I will provide the service with reasonable care and skill, and Plus will work as the pricing page describes. I cannot promise it will always be available or free of mistakes, and the Free plan is provided as it is. I am not responsible for losses that were not a foreseeable result of my breaking these terms, or for anything caused by Yoto, your internet connection or your player. Apart from what the law does not allow me to limit, such as death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights, the most I owe you for a problem is what you paid me in the previous 12 months.
Changes, law and contact
If these terms change, the date at the top changes too, and I will email you about any change that matters to a paying customer. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protections that the law where you live gives you. See also the privacy policy. For questions or problems, email me at gomesgoncalo [at] gmail.com.
